Random Stuff for October [Oct. 4th, 2005|01:45 pm]
[mood |listlesslistless]
[music |Comic Podcast]

Well October is here in full swing. Too bad it doesn't feel like autumn outside. Freakin' 80+ degrees outside. I'm ready to wear the light jackets and see the leaves start to change anytime now.

We're getting the kids ready for Trick-or-Treating. We have costumes for Michael and Isabel already. We still have to pick up Alek's and we'll probably use a hand me down for David. Michael is the Human Torch. Isabel is a Hello Kitty Fairy. Alek is going to be the Thing and David is either Winnie the Pooh or Bob the Builder.

A new kid moved to the neighborhood that is the same age as Michael. We're getting to know more people in the area now that we're at the bus stop every morning. It's very cool.

Been playing more and more Hecatomb with Yvonne and the guys at the shop. Still working on a killer deck. Mage Knight is ending so it's pretty much just MechWarrior and Hecatomb for now.

Wow, Time Flies [Sep. 15th, 2005|09:49 am]
[mood |busybusy]
[music |New album by Trapt]

Well, when I first created this blog I figured I could write something short every day. HAHAHA! It's been around 3 weeks since my last post. I lead a very busy life. Go figure.

Let's see, what's new.....

Yvonne and I have been playing Hecatomb. Excellent game. Anyone who has ever played a CCG before should try it.

Michael, Alek, & Isabel have all started school. Michael is in first grade while the twins are still in pre-k.

David is trying all sorts of new words now. Plus he's starting to go down the stairs all by himself. He still wants to do everything the other kids do. He's started to get his 2 year molars. He loves it when I read stories to him.

Yvonne is still getting her new tattoo worked on. I guess it's not really new since she first got it back around the beginning of July.

Got Directv. So much cheaper than cable with more channels to boot.

Would love to hear what other people are doing this time of the year.

Greetings From GenCon! [Aug. 19th, 2005|09:38 am]
[mood |geekygeeky]

Well, we all survived the first day at GenCon. Yvonne got some very cool artwork from her favorite artist. I attended the Envoy Appreciation Night for WizKids. We also got to try out a cute little Winx card game for kids. We also both played in a MechWarrior Battle Royale. Today we plan on checking out the rest of the booths that we missed yesterday, and also maybe playing some Mage Knight at the Apocalypse Party. Got to go!

One More Day! [Aug. 16th, 2005|09:37 am]
[mood |bouncybouncy]

Hooray! One day to go!

I love road trips. I would rather drive a long drive than fly every time if I had my preference. Not that I have a problem with flying. I love to fly. I just like driving more. I'm almost all done packing everything up. Tonight I get to load the car and finish all the prep. I know we'll be horrible with trying to get some sleep tonight. I can never sleep before a trip. Too excited.

Next post is from Indy!

Two days to go! [Aug. 15th, 2005|10:36 am]
[mood |workingworking]
[music |System of a Down - Sugar]

Well, today is monday. That means only two days to go before GenCon! Yvonne and I have started getting things together, packing up stuff, planning our trip out. 48 hours and we'll be on the road. This will be my 8th GenCon. I've had fun at all of them. Technically this will be David's third. Pretty odd since he's only 20 months old but it works for me. Probably will be the most challenging one with him since he's at that toddler stage. Just old enough to move around and get into trouble, but not old enough to listen or understand many things. I'm sure it will be a blast anyways. We plan on taking lots of pictures so I'll probably end up posting a bunch of them after we get back.

It's too bad they closed the Sonic in Indy. I was really looking forward to having some. Now I have to go to Urbana or Kokomo to get some. :( Oh well, I'm sure there are lots of other places to check out down there. Maybe BW3.

Is it the weekend yet? [Aug. 11th, 2005|02:10 pm]
[mood |geekygeeky]
[music |Podcasts]

Damn, only thursday. I'm so looking forward to this weekend to start. That will mean only two more work days until vacation.

I've discovered podcasting. Been listening to Comic Geek Speak. It's a weekly show that my itunes downloads automatically. All talking about comics. It's a nice change of pace from just listening to music in the car. Plus, it's free. Maybe I should find a gaming one as well. I don't get to talk comics and gaming too much anymore, except when I'm in the stores or when I'm talking with my wife. Listening to this podcast is like sitting around with a group of friends talking comics. It's cool. I'm such a geek.

Started raining today. First good rain we've had in a while. Maybe we'll get something growning just in time for autumn.

Right after GenCon it's back to school for the kids. And hopefully back to normalcy for me.
